The Government Delays the Obligation of Halal Product Certification for MSEs. Check out the explanation!

Assalamu’alaikum Sobat Halal-Mu

You already know that the implementation of halal certification obligations for food and beverage products for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) has been postponed. What is the explanation?

The government launched Mandatory Halal October 18 (WHO) October 2024 for Food and Beverage products, Raw Materials, Food Additives and Auxiliary Materials for Food and Beverage Products, as well as Slaughter Services and Slaughter Products.

However, in a limited meeting of President Joko Widodo and a number of Ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet on May 15, 2024 at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, it was decided that the implementation of halal certification obligations for food and beverage products for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) was postponed until October 2026 or 2 years later.

Why?

The policy of postponing the obligation of halal certification for UK food and beverage products is a form of government favoritism towards MSE actors. The delay can be used by MSEs to take care of the Business Identification Number (NIB) and apply for halal certification until October 2026. Of course, this policy can protect MSEs from legal problems due to administrative sanctions.

Notes:

The postponement of the obligation to certify halal food and beverage products is only for MSE actors who are categorized as self-declare. For medium and large scale businesses, halal certification obligations will still apply starting October 18, 2024.

Hopefully, with the postponement of the obligation for halal certification of food and beverage products, it will provide many benefits for all groups, more even socialization and can synergize together on the importance of halal certification.

Hopefully useful
