Restaurant in Hotel needs to be Halal Certified
Assalamu’alaikum Sobat Halal-Mu
The hotel business is now increasing in Indonesia and is likely to increase every year. Where each hotel already has its own kitchen or restaurant facilities. Did you know that the restaurant at the hotel must be halal certified? Based on Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Assurance (later amended to Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation) states that every product that enters, circulates, and is traded in the territory of Indonesia is actually required to be halal certified.
Hotel restaurants need to have Halal certification issued by the Halal Product Assurance Orgaizing Body (BPJPH). The kitchen in the hotel restaurant is only devoted to halal production, as well as the serving equipment facilities are only devoted to serving halal products.
Restaurants must be halal certified is one of the focuses of the Mandatory Halal October (WHO) 2024 program. The Ministry of Religious Affairs through BPJPH sets a limit for each restaurant to obtain a halal certificate by October 18, 2024. If not, there will be administrative sanctions, fines, and withdrawal from circulation.
Of course, obtaining a halal certificate by the Hotel will provide a sense of security and comfort to customers in consuming products produced by the Hotel. Let us be more aware of how important cleanliness and halalness are in the hotel and restaurant industry. The focus of certification is not only on the final product, but also the manufacturing process. Let’s increase awareness of safety and quality by choosing places that have been Halal certified.
LPH-KHT Muhammadiyah has conducted halal certification in several restaurants, hospitals, and other products.
