ADHC Seminar: Halal Product Innovation in the Digital Age and Inauguration of the PTM / AHS Halal Science Association (AHS) by LPH-KHT Muhammadiyah

Ahmad Dahlan Halal Center (ADHC) held a National Seminar themed “Halal Product Innovation in the Digital Era” on January 17-18, 2024 at Amphitharium Campus 4 of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD). The event discussed the development of halal products in the modern era.

Chairman of ADHC-UAD, Mustofa Ahda said that ADHC as one of the HC PTMA is able to assist the community in applying for halal certification both self-declaration and regular programs. The advantage of ADHC is that it already has a Halal Supervisor and Halal Auditor Job Training Institution recognized by BPJPH.

LPH-KHT Muhammadiyah actively contributed to this seminar, Prof. Ir HM Nadratuzzaman Hosen, MS, MEc, Ph.D, Chairman of LPH-KHT Muhammadiyah, became a speaker on the first day with the topic “The Role of Fatwa Institutions in Determining Halal Standards”. He highlighted the importance of fatwa institutions in setting halal standards that are relevant in the digital era.

Another speaker was Fitriani Kuroda as a practitioner of Kain Halal Indonesia. She encouraged Kain Halal to make Indonesia one of the world’s halal mecca. Increasing halal awareness in Indonesia still needs to be improved so that customers begin to be selective in purchasing products online, said Dr. Retty Ikawati (UAD Food Service Business Lecturer). The seminar was attended by more than 100 participants from students, fostered MSMEs, representatives of LPH-KHT and 23 HC PTMA throughout Indonesia.

The second day was filled with an explanation of the Program and Targets of LPH-KHT by Elvina Agustin Rahayu as the 1st Deputy Chairperson for Certification and Domestic & Foreign Cooperation, followed by the ratification of the AD ART of the Halal Science Association (AHS), the inauguration of the AHS chairman Dr. Ihsan Jaya from Muhammadiyah Makassar University and the inauguration of the AHS PTMA board for the 2025-2028 period, which aims to strengthen collaboration between halal institutions. AHS PTMA is a forum for halal activists from all PTMA Halal Centers throughout Indonesia.

In addition, LPH-KHT held a gala dinner with LPH-KHT Muhammadiyah Representative Managers for hospitality and coordination meetings to strengthen relationships and formulate future strategies.

LPH-KHT Muhammadiyah’s participation in this seminar emphasizes its commitment to advancing halal products in Indonesia through collaboration and digital innovation. Hopefully this event will encourage the advancement of halal products at the national and global levels. Let’s support the development of competitive halal products in the future.
